Mrs. Butterworth

Have you seen the latest Geico commercial with Mrs. Butterworth?  It's pretty funny; had me laughing out loud.  Some of their commercials are just so-so, a couple are pretty good, but this is the best so far.

Let's see, in other news my brother is leaving for Germany for several days as part of his new job.  That sounds like fun.  I'd love to do that again.

As for summer vacation, I don't think we'll be doing anything major this year.  We have a wedding to go to in Michigan in July.  We also heard about the Perogi Festival in Whiting, IN, (between Chicago and Gary).  I like perogis.  I'm not a huge fan, but the festival sounded fun and different.  Plus, we could probably make a day trip of it. Anyone interested?

Have a good weekend!  I'll be doing taxes (finally).

Baby name

Did I mention that friends of ours had a baby and named him Ian?

I figured John would appreciate that.

Allen County Public Library

Paula and I were able to take a tour of the new downtown library. It was very interesting. Did you know it is the 12th largest main library in the country? And did you know it is the 10th busiest?

We got to go through both lower levels. Did you know there is a 200+ seat theater in there? We got to go through a rare books room, see the dock area, and see their "ice storage" area. (They cool down a fluid at night when electricity rates are lower, then circulate it through the building during the day.)

We saw the office area, the TV studios, and sat in the board room (which is very nice and had a great view). The executive director, Jeffrey Krull, gave our small group the tour. We also walked through the art gallery area, which, oddly enough, is called the Jeffrey Krull Gallery. Heh, pretty cool.

Happy Birthday Gavin S!

Kevin and Lisa are in town briefly, for Gavin's second birthday.  We met them for dinner and introduced them to Joshua.  Gavin is getting pretty big.  He's such a cute kid.  I'll have to get some pictures up this weekend.

Snacks

Several years ago I was introduced to "Salt & Vinegar" potato chips.  I like them a lot, and I've seen a few different company making them.  Most are too mild for my interests though.

I've also seen Ketchup flavored chips, and dill pickle flavored chips.

The vending machine at work now offers "Ketchup & Fries" "flavored potato snacks" from Burger King.  And you know what, they aren't bad.  There is a noticeable ketchup flavor, but not too much of the fries flavor.

This is a test

Just a quick update, testing a new way to do it.

Blah, blah, blah.
