Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you all had a great weekend. As always, it was too short. We still had a good time though. It was nice to see the NY folks and the OH folks, even if it was a breif visit. I hope Dave and JJ's house survived the six kids. Just think, next year there will be two more! Two boys even. I'm starting to feel sorry for Mary and Izzy. Add Charlie to the mix and that's seven boys against the two girls.

Many thanks to my dad and brother-in-law Ken for giving up two days of their holiday weekend to build a railing on our stairs. It looks great! Unfortunately I haven't downloaded the pictures off my camera yet. I'll be sure to do that tonight.

To steal a quote, "Make it a good day" [as opposed to just having a good day].

Pictures

Last night we ran into some friends and they wanted a picture of Paula and her pregnant belly. She graciously posed for them. Later that evening they emailed a copy of it to us and I saved it to a hard drive.

It's a nice picture, so I decided to send it to some out-of-town friends and relatives so they can see how she's coming all. I browsed through some folders, found a picture called "paula.jpg" and attached it.

Before hitting send, I figured I should double-check and make sure I had the right picture. It's a good thing I did. It wasn't a picture of Paula and her belly. It was a picture Dave sent me, in which he hastily put Paula's head on the body of a "French Maid" as a joke.

I can only image my in-laws' reaction had they received that picture instead of the one I meant to send....

Thanks Dave.

PS: I renamed the picture Dave sent me, in order to avoid confusion in the future.

Oh, and Happy Birthday Carrie Q!

Happy Birthday, Carrie!

110,000 miles!

On the way home from work last night my Saturn SL hit the 110,000 mile mark! I've had that car for 10+ years and hopefully I'll have it for many more.

Our new windows are in

We finally got our new windows installed yesterday. So far I'm very pleased. We had several companies come out and give an estimate, and as near as I can tell most of the windows are pretty similar. One company has the extra-fine wire in their screens which makes it look like they aren't even there. We really liked those screens but they cost way too much. The last company we talked to gave us a really good deal, less than half of some of the quotes, so we went with them.

It didn't take them long to replace two upstairs windows, two windows in the bedroom, and the picture window. The picture window we had replaced with two windows side-by-side. The old window was cracked, you couldn't open it or even get in between the panes to clean, and it only gives a view of the neighboor's house anyway.

I no longer feel a draft by the windows and I think they block more noise, too. Hopefuly our heating bill will be less this winter. The workers did a good job cleaning up afterward. Over-all I'm very pleased with American Sunspace.
