Weird hardware issues

Last month we went to get paula a new cell phone. Of all the features to choose from, all she wanted was a green phone. Verizon has their Chocolate phone which comes in Mint. We asked the friendly customer support people, but they said they don't offer the green ones any more because they were having problems.

Wait, what? Just the green ones were having a problem? How's that? Isn't it just a matter of case color? Pft.

So I finally get a copy of Roesetta Stone from work and install it on my new Dell Inspiron laptop. I was excited to get started. I installed it and clicked the icon and got -- nothing. I played around with it but didn't get anywhere. I downloaded an uupdate from their website but it didn't even finish installing before freezing.

Getting frustrated and not finding any help on the 'Net, I emailed their tech support (I was pressed for time and didn't want to sit on the phone). After several days I got a response asking for more info. Instead of waiting another few days I made time to call tech support. It turns out, there is a known issue with Inspiron 1721's and Rosetta Stone, but RS doesn't know why. "The good news is it will still run our online version." Yeah, that's handy.

WALL-E

We managed to see it Saturday evening, and we were very impressed. Pixar has another hit on their hands.

I noticed the previews were mostly computer animation movies, too.

Oh, it's out there

Paula found an interesting item to help Josh with potty training, when the time comes.  It's a short, plastic, toddler-sized urinal for only $39.99.  It doesn't connect to your indoor plumbing though, so you have to manually empty it.  It said something about how kids like to flush, but I don't know if it is just a sound effect or if you have to pour water in the top.

I don't know how helpful it might be, other than it might be an easier target.

Hey

Hello. Still alive. Just busy. Sorry Dave that we weren't able to stay longer at Jefferson Point. Paula's friend from Indy called Thursday night and asked to get together. We don't get to see her very often. We're going to try JP again this Friday if anyone is intersted.

Josh is doing well and starting some cereal and even green beans. He was 13.5 pounds and just over 24 inches at his four-month appointment. That's about 6 pounds and 6 inches in four months. Not bad, eh? Check out our flickr page for updates.
