Pereogi Festival

Paula and I took Josh to Whiting, Indiana, for their annual Pierogi Festival. Whiting is between Gary and Chicago. I didn't know there was any room between those two cites.

It wasn't quite what I expected but it was fun. It's very similar to the Three Rivers Festival, but a little bigger. They had many booths set up, including food vendors and arts and crafts.

We stopped by one booth and got pierogies, but they were just frozen ones we could have gotten at the store. We made sure to check ahead before our next purchase and got some hand-made pierogies later in the day.

As we were getting ready to leave, Josh got really fussy. I think he was over-stimulated being in a large crowd. We pulled into a park by the lake to get him out of his car seat and let him settle down. There was a pier there, so we took him out and let him fall asleep. In the distance we could see the Chicago skyline.

We got some fun souvenirs, but I don't think we'll make it to next year's festival.
